Maker's Mark looks outstanding, compared to other Bourbons it is distinguished by its taste and the characteristic red wax dripping from the bottle, thus making each copy one and unique. Another distinguishing feature is the fact that bottling does not take place, as in most alcohols, after reaching the age specified by the producer, but when the taste reaches its desired taste.
It takes up to six years to mature. After three, the barrels on the upper level of the warehouse are moved to the lower level, and those from the lower one to the upper one. This is caused by temperature differences on the various levels of the warehouse, thanks to which the aging process is optimised.
