Glenrothes 12 Years Old is part of the Soleo collection. A special feature of the Soleo collection is the natural coloring and storage in sherry wine barrels.
"Soleo" stands for a special wine-making process. Before the grapes are processed, they are dried in the sun on straw mats until they become almost like raisins from which, among others, excellent Spanish sherry de Jerez.
Nose: Gingerbread, stewed apple and earthy vanilla, followed by soft notes of tropical fruit and hints of sherry wine.
Taste: Creamy hazelnut, dried fruit and a hint of cinnamon. Notes of chocolate, old leather, dried herbs and tobacco add depth to Galia melon and honey oak.
Finish: Long and sweet with a touch of baking spice and more stewed sweet fruit.
